About Laura

Laura Dias, M.S., CCC-SLP has over 10 years of experience treating Speech-Language disorders. Since receiving her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology in 2013, she has provided individualized services to students in public schools as well as privately to children in Fairfield county. She has extensive experience working with children diagnosed with Specific Language Impairment, Speech Delays, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Laura currently works as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Stamford Public School District in Stamford, CT, which she’s been with for 10 years.

Laura is passionate about working with children and their families. She is driven by the joy experienced by parents and their children connecting with one another through language. Laura lives with her husband, daughter Riley, and dog Cooper in Wilton, CT. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and wants to help your family to do the same.

PROMPT Trained: Bridging Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets

In many cases, PROMPT therapy can be the most effective treatment option. PROMPT therapy approaches communication as a combination of cognitive-linguistic, physical-sensory, and social-emotional capabilities.

  • Develops the ability to create an imagined or imaged gestalt from language—as a basis for comprehension. The development of concept imagery at an early age helps to improve reading and listening comprehension, memory, oral vocabulary, critical thinking, and writing in the later years.
